Resumen
Las condiciones orales tienen impactos debilitantes en la vida cotidiana de las personas. El impacto del gradiente social en las experiencias de calidad de vida de los individuos está bien documentado, y aquellos que están socialmente en desventaja reportan mayores impactos. Se han propuesto una variedad de modelos para explicar la asociación entre la salud bucal y la calidad de vida. En el presente estudio se analiza mediante un proceso de revisión bibliográfica la relación entre los alimentos, la salud oral y la calidad de vida. Los hallazgos proporcionan evidencia adicional de que una desventaja social en cualquier etapa de la vida tiene efectos nocivos sobre la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud oral.
