Abstract: Waterfall tourism can be a source of economic income for local communities, but it is important that it be conducted in a sustainable manner. Promoting responsible tourism implies guaranteeing the conservation of the surrounding ecosystems, respecting established norms, and educating visitors about the importance of protecting these natural areas. In the binational border of Colombia and Ecuador in the last 10 years after the post-conflict process, nature activities have included visits to waterfalls, but there is little information to put into context the importance and characteristics of waterfalls from a landscape approach. In this sense, the present study aimed to analyze the importance of waterfalls in nature tourism and to describe the aspects that characterize and describe a waterfall from a landscape approach. Abstract: Teaching English as a foreign language has become difficult when adequate communication between teachers and students is not achieved. It is important for teachers to have a firm understanding of how their students learn in order to determine what teaching methods or strategies to use in their classrooms. Should be a process of building knowledge and language skills so that learners develop their language competencies and learning abilities through different learning styles. Therefore, the main objective of the study is focused on analyzing the learning styles to improve the speaking skills of the students of second semester of the bachelor’s degree in Tourism at the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo-Sede Orellana. Abstract: El turismo es considerado como una de las alternativas para el desarrollo local. Sin embargo, una condición para el desarrollo del turismo es que esté correctamente planificado y gestionado. Abstract: The notion of scaffolding is widely used in education, where the real protagonist of the whole process is the learner. The teacher’s role, then, becomes more of that of a facilitator. The main objective of the present study was to improve the reading sub-skills of second semester students at the Quevedo State Technical University. The methodology used was semi-structured interviews and expert judgments. The results indicated that it is important that the teacher be familiar with the students’ competence and knowledge to know how to best help them, and what is most appropriate for their progress and pace of learning. To determine this, students should participate in different activities. Abstract: La ansiedad por separación es una respuesta emocional en la cual el niño experimenta ansiedad excesiva al separarse de las figuras de apego, siendo más frecuente entre los 7 y los 9 años de edad. El trastorno de espectro autista, caracterizado por las dificultades en el dominio social, se encuentra respaldado en ocasiones por trastornos comórbidos, entre los cuales se encuentran con frecuencia los trastornos de ansiedad. El objetivo del presente trabajo es adaptar y evaluar la eficacia del programa cognitivo-conductual FEAR en una niña de ocho años con trastorno de espectro autista comórbido con ansiedad por separación, con el objetivo de disminuir su sintomatología ansiosa. La evaluación y aplicación del tratamiento se llevó a cabo durante 13 sesiones de 45 minutos de duración, concertadas semanalmente. La intervención consistió en la aplicación de técnicas dirigidas al entrenamiento para padres, la exposición gradual y técnicas de relajación. La adaptación del programa FEAR en este estudio de caso fue satisfactoria, ya que se lograron los objetivos propuestos. Abstract: Intelligence is a multidimensional phenomenon that is present at multiple levels of our brain, mental and bodily systems. There are various forms of intelligence, in which people know themselves and the world around them. It is important to create a guide to improve listening skills based on multiple intelligences. At present, in the Ecuadorian Amazon region, studies on multiple intelligences for the development of listening skills have been insipient. In this sense, seeing the need to know a descriptive reality of multiple intelligences, the main objective of this study was to analyze the conceptual arguments of the theory of multiple intelligences, as well as to diagnose listening skills and socialize the results of this study. Abstract: La flora arvense o maleza limita el rendimiento en la producción agrícola del cacao (Theobroma cacao). Sin embargo, dentro de los agroecosistemas también se encuentran arvenses nobles benéficas para el sistema agrícola y el medioambiente, lo cual hace necesario un control de arvenses selectivo e integral. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de varios herbicidas aplicados con un selector de arvenses en el control de especies agresivas en plantaciones de cacao. La experimentación se realizó en la parroquia Jambelí, provincia de Sucumbíos. Previamente, se caracterizaron las especies de arvenses in-situ para después aplicar los herbicidas con el selector; estos fueron: dicloruro de paraquat, glifosato de isopropilamina y glufosinato de amonio, todos a una concentración del 10% v/v y conforme a un diseño completamente al azar (DCA) con 4 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones.
